Clean Harbors Springfield, MO is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join our safety conscious team. The role focuses on repairs and preventative maintenance for company-owned fleet, with emphasis on health and safety and reliable operations.

You'll perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and inspections, assist drivers with vehicle issues, and ensure equipment is properly parked and secured per DOT standards. We value teamwork and dependability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• 1+ years experience with heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• DOT inspection experience preferred.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and physical tests on hire.

Responsabilités

• Ensure health and safety as top priority by following policies.
• Move company equipment safely on yard.
• Assist drivers with vehicle issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes and inspections.
• Complete daily checklist.
• Ensure equipment is parked/secured per DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed;
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues;
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment;
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery;
• Complete daily checklist as required
• Assure that Equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required)
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire
