Clean Harbors Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join our safety-conscious team. You will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on the company fleet to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, oil changes, battery checks, and DOT-compliant parking. Candidates should have 1+ years in heavy-duty truck work and own basic tools; a strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required).
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Change oil, check batteries, and lubricate equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Complete daily checklist as required.
• Ensure equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed;
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues;
