Job summary

AutoNation’s The Porter – New role focuses on supporting the sale and upkeep of vehicles across the dealership lot. The position involves greeting callers, maintaining an orderly lot, and transporting vehicles as directed by sales managers to ensure optimal showroom presentation.

The role requires basic automotive maintenance knowledge, the ability to operate tools, drive state-to-state for vehicle transport, and a valid driver’s license. A safety-conscious approach and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance.
• Ability to handle machinery safely.
• Ability to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Answering phones and greeting callers in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Keep vehicle lot neat and orderly; move units as directed by sales managers and showroom standards.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Assist with customer deliveries and weather-related cleanup.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and in good repair on the lot and showroom.
• Ensure window stickers are properly placed on newly arrived vehicles for display.
• Pickup vehicles from storage and deliver to storage or other dealerships.
• Support additional duties and special projects as assigned.
