Job summary

The Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist at Cox Automotive – USA is responsible for entering accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system, labeling and organizing incoming vehicles, and directing transporters in the auction environment.

You will take vehicle photos, verify sale identification, and support safety initiatives while performing other duties as assigned. The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and a valid drivers license, with no travel.

Qualifications

  • Experience in related field preferred (2 years or less).
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive standard/automatic vehicles.

Job description

Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist

Company: Cox Automotive – USA. Flexible work option: no remote option; must work at a specified Cox location. Work shift: day. Travel: none.

Compensation

Hourly base pay $16.63 – $24.90 per hour, plus potential commission and incentive programs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal – PT) or provide data via headset for each vehicle received at the auction, including VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
  • Affix barcode/stock number stickers and place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
  • Flag “no key” cars, direct transporters to the proper drop zone, and report transport damage as needed.
  • Take a digital image of each vehicle upon receipt and provide the proper sale identification windshield code to the person driving the vehicle through the registration/check‑in area.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
  • Work with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, such as assisting on sale days driving vehicles through auction sales lanes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required and ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1–15 pounds.
  • Vision: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred: 1–3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise level.

Employment requires clearing a pre‑employment drug test. Cox is a drug‑free workplace; possession, use, or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property, or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Benefits

Eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays each year. Additional paid time off may be provided for bereavement leave, voting, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
