Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a passionate systems engineer to bridge vehicle communications and external interfaces via multiple protocols. You will develop mobile app requirements and manage the development, sourcing, and engineering of these solutions to support vehicle connectivity.

You will design vehicle-side components interfacing with a commercial-grade mobile app to control features and view vehicle data, while implementing security for mobile apps interacting with vehicle networks.

Qualifications

• Experience building mobile applications interfacing cloud/server services.
• Experience in Android and iOS subsystem development (audio/video, USB, Bluetooth, CarPlay/Android Auto).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and OpenAPI for endpoint design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop mobile application requirements and oversee development, sourcing, and engineering of these solutions.
• Design vehicle-side system components that interact with a mobile app as a conduit to control vehicle features.
• Develop connectivity security requirements and features for apps interfacing with vehicle modules.
• Create and implement UI/UX backend, framework, and frontend features for Android/iOS environments.
• Lead architecture requirements for vehicle-mobile connectivity and cloud offerings.

Job Description:

• A Passionate and dynamic systems engineer that will bridge the gap between vehicle communications to external interfaces via different communication protocols.
• This position will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure the mobile apps and connectivity plans for the company have a high-quality execution.

• Develop phone connectivity security requirements and features that interact with otherapplicationplug-ins and vehicle modules such assecuregateway module,safetyvehicle ECUs for diagnostics, flash-over-the-airand status information.
• Work cross functionally to developvehiclearchitecturerequirementsthat allowsmobile applications connectivity to automotive ECUs, implementation of UI/UX backend, framework, and frontend featuresin android or iOS environment.
• Implement security featuresin mobileapplicationsinterfacingvehiclenetworkfrom illegal access and unauthorized access to safety critical modules.
• Collaborate and work with 3rdpartyhardware orsoftware suppliers to engage in requirements elicitation and test criteria to establish internal test environment and test setup.
• Document development plans, processes, and overallmobileapplications.
• Perform benchmarking / market research on vehicle attributes (features and market trends formobile apps, vehicle content and other vehicle systems).
• Lead the technology roadmap by working with industry partners to define new and innovative technology to support vehicle connectivity, Wi-Fi and Online Infotainment features that give our customers intuitive andaccessibility comfortexperiences.
• Test, verify andvalidate mobile applicationsoftwareusing industry standard tools.

What you bring to the Team:

• Experience building mobile apps with a large user base interfacing cloud/server application.
• Experience indevelopment of Android and iOS-based subsystem involving technologies of audio and video playback on a local deviceinterfacing withUSB and audio streaming technologies (Bluetooth, Android-auto or Car-play).
• Experience indesigningintuitiveandwell-modeledapplication interfaceendpoints for both internal and user-facingdevice accessibility.
• Experience or strong knowledge ofRESTful conceptsusingOpenAPI specification toarchitect anddocument endpoints.
• Experience as a Kotlin developer for Android apps and Swift Experience for iOS apps.
• Experienceindecomposingvehicle level functionsand architectural elementsfor mobile apps, connectivity systems, and cloudofferings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of science degree in engineering inComputer engineering,Computeror Information Science.
• Experience in developingmobileapplicationservices on one or more cloud offerings.
• Familiarity with DevOps and DevSec tools.
• Strong knowledge of postman for testing APIs.
• Platform development experience usingOpen-Source experience and effective thinking through on build versus buy.
• Strong knowledge in Bootloader integration, Flash Bootloader, E2E, XCP, Cyber securityandFOTA(Flash over the air).
• Knowledge of automotive standardized instrumentation and test tools such as CANalyzer, Intrepid Veh-Spy, ETAS-INCA.
