Job summary

The Vehicle Care Attendant at Biltmore Estate will maintain shuttle and fleet vehicles, keep interiors and exteriors clean, coordinate service with Parking and Transportation, and inspect vehicles daily.

Requires high school diploma preferred and at least 6 months of related vehicle care experience, plus a clean driving record. Schedule is 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday–Friday, with an average 20-29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and service department vehicles for guest transportation.
  • Review DVIRs to prioritize servicing and ensure quality and safety.
  • Inspect vehicles for damage and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate and maintain cleaning/servicing schedule to optimize uptime.
  • Maintain service records and arrange upcoming service needs.
  • Maintain building and kennels cleanliness to required standards.

Job description

Job Description: The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Flex: A position working an average of 20-29 hours per week (between 1000 - 1559 hours/year). Schedule can vary, but generally 6:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Vehicle Care Attendant will be responsible for the overall condition of vehicles to include the shuttle fleet, courtesy vans and other fleet vehicles. This will include maintaining internal and external cleanliness of department vehicles, coordinating service and repairs with Parking and Transpiration and daily inspection of vehicle for damage and wear. The incumbent will be certified and licensed to operate all department vehicles, and will provide general assistance and support for the department and company as assigned.

Requirements
  • 1. High school diploma preferred. The ideal candidate may have additional training or certification(s).
  • 2. At least six (6) months of related vehicle care experience. The preferred candidate will have served in a similar role in an automotive dealership, transportation company, or other guest service environment.
  • 3. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal and external guest service.
  • 4. Outstanding planning, organizational and time management skills, with a superior attention to quality and detail.
  • 5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively to different audiences.
  • 6. Ability to be proactive and take initiative as required; must be able to exercise good judgment and integrity.
  • 7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and be a supportive and effective team member.
  • 8. Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor at all times, and to handle a variety of situations with diplomacy in a manner consistent with company standards.
  • 9. Must have a clean driving record for the past three (3) years and be at least 19 years of age.
Essential Job Duties
  • 1. Clean and service department vehicles for guest transportation (including exterior washing, cleaning floors, vacuuming carpets and crevices, cleaning windows, fueling, adding air and fluids and associated preparations).
  • 2. Review driver-completed Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) to prioritize servicing by Fleet Maintenance and ensure vehicles meet quality and safety criteria.
  • 3. Inspect vehicles for internal and external damage, reporting damage immediately to Manager and arranging for repairs as needed.
  • 4. Coordinate and maintain schedule for cleaning and servicing vehicles which optimizes vehicle out-of-service time.
  • 5. Maintain service records and makes arrangements for upcoming service needs (i.e. - routine maintenance and arranging for vehicles to return to shop when ordered parts arrive).
  • 6. Maintain utility building and kennels for cleanliness and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
  • 1. Ability to stand, bend and move within and around shuttle buses; should also be able to kneel, lean, stoop, reach overhead and below.
  • 2. Ability to occasionally lift up 50 pounds.
  • 3. Majority of work in performed in Fleet garage with occasional outside work, including exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
