Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Michigan is seeking a Vehicle Access Engineer to support development, validation, and integration of vehicle access systems across programs. You will work on doors, latches, PEPS interfaces, fobs, RFHM, SPAAK, KIN, TPMS, and wireless security across platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive engineering and 4–6 years of automotive experience, with hands-on work on vehicle access or body systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field.
  • 4–6 years in automotive engineering or vehicle system development.
  • Hands-on with vehicle access or body systems (doors, latches, actuators, sensors).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and validation of vehicle access systems (latches, locks, PEPS).
  • Define technical requirements and interface specs with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Support DFMEA, PFMEA and design reviews for safety and robustness.
  • Coordinate vehicle builds, testing, and issue resolution during prototyping and production.
  • Analyze field/warranty/test data and implement corrective actions.
  • Support supplier reviews, part verification, and quality audits.
