The role:

As a VDC Manager specializing in mechanical and/or piping areas, you'll apply your engineering skills across various projects, contribute to BIM and VDC thought leadership, and manage a small team of VDC Engineers.

This role involves ensuring BIM processes are incorporated into plumbing and/or mechanical projects from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about developing innovative BIM processes across dispersed teams.

In this role you will:

• Lead global project management of VDC/BIM projects independently
• Manage a team of 2-3 VDC Engineers and BIM specialists
• Serve as a subject matter expert in plumbing and/or mechanical areas
• Interface with clients, build relationships, present work, and conduct meetings
• Handle RFIs and manage the RFI process
• Coordinate global project teams to complete client work
• Create and manage complex design projects using Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, and other tools
• Participate in and lead professional development and training efforts
• Opportunity to expand knowledge in projects outside plumbing/mechanical focus

Apply if you have:

• A degree in engineering or a related field
• 5+ years experience in BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support
• Managed 2-3 VDC Engineers or detailers
• 5+ years experience with plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractors
• Experience coordinating BIM updates, clash detection, and stakeholder communication
• Proficiency in modeling, drafting, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills for multiple projects
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work early/late hours for international coordination
• Experience leading remote online meetings and training sessions with platforms
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP and/or Fabrication CADMEP

Even better if you have:

• Experience with project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting
• Knowledge of other building systems: foundations, structure, electrical, fire protection, interior finishes, etc.
• Experience managing BIM and VDC throughout project lifecycle
• Understanding of real-world constructability of modeled systems
• A portfolio of work to share
• Proven remote team management skills
• Background in providing professional client services

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000, with potential bonuses. Actual offers depend on skills, qualifications, location, and experience.
