Job summary

Thinklance LLP is seeking an intern to support BIM modeling and VDC data management on active construction projects in Greenville, SC. You will assist with modeling, data organization, and on-site coordination under experienced mentors.

The role offers exposure to drone mapping, laser scanning, RFIs, shop drawings, and GPS‑based as‑built data collection, with travel to multiple jobsites and offices. A strong willingness to learn and contribute is essential.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in CM, Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of BIM software is preferred.
• Strong interest in construction technology and learning.
• Willingness to contribute to team efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and modifying construction models using BIM software.
• Support the VDC team in managing project data.
• Participate in team meetings and assist with administrative tasks.
• Learn practical VDC applications from experienced team members.
• Engage in clash detection and conflict resolution.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Support reality capture using high-accuracy laser scanners.
• Assist with as-built and verification data collection using GPS.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field.
• Basic knowledge of BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks is preferred.

Work Environment

Travel Required

Travel to multiple jobsites, projects, and offices is required. A valid US driver’s license is necessary.
