Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer for their Advanced Manufacturing Group, effectively supporting VDC and BIM initiatives. This role is site-based and open throughout the United States, influencing project success with key responsibilities including managing the Common Data Environment, leading the creation of BIM Execution Plans, and serving as a technology lead for on-site technical support.

The ideal candidate must possess at least 7 years of relevant experience and strong expertise in BIM technologies, ensuring effective project collaboration both on-site and virtually.

Qualifications

Overview

We are seeking a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Engineer for our Advanced Manufacturing Group. The role is site‑based and available at any location in the United States, with a preference for candidates near a Jacobs U.S. office.

Responsibilities

Provide VDC/BIM/Digital Delivery management and leadership by aligning technologies with internal and client objectives, define digital delivery scope for project estimates, and coordinate project technical setup and model deliverables. Lead the creation and implementation of BIM Execution Plans for EPCM; integrate VDC tasks, including 3‑D logistics, safety planning, 4‑D scheduling, 5‑D cost and quantity take‑offs; manage the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud); oversee clash detection and resolution; serve as BIM subject matter expert; facilitate reality capture and laser scan integration; manage model redline and as‑built processes; deliver mobile device training; and act as technology lead for on‑site technical support.

Qualifications

• Track record of onsite leadership of VDC activities

• Strong understanding of construction processes and MEP systems
• Willingness to work on site at a project near Corpus Christi, TX

Compensation

Base salary range: $111,100.00 to $145,725.00, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
