Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a VDC Engineer to manage task-level VDC and BIM processes across assigned projects. You will coordinate 3D modeling, laser scanning, drones, and 2D draw production with project teams.

Responsibilities include developing native 3D content for Self-Perform scopes, coordinating with design and trades, and contributing to BIM Execution Plans and schedules. Regional travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture or equivalent years of industry experience.
• Process oriented, timely, and accountable to commitments/deadlines.
• Team builder attitude, self-motivated problem solver, active cross-communicator/facilitator.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, action oriented, and effective listener.
• Familiarity with authoring, analysis and scheduling tools such as Revit, Revizto, SketchUp, Tekla, Synchro, or others.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in daily documentation programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, or others.
• Understanding of Concrete structural systems preferred.
• Some Regional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Task-level execution of VDC functions including BIM Execution planning, coordination, 3D modeling, 2D drawing production, 3D printing, laser scanning, drone flights.
• Lead technical aspect of 3D constructability and design coordination with project teams.
• Develop native 3D model content to support Self-Perform scopes of work.
• Develop model content to support coordination by others.
• Execute laser scanning, processing, and deliverables for project phases.
• Execute drone flights, processing, and deliverables.
• Contribute to BIM Execution Plan attachments and project plans.
• Contribute to VDC schedule and budget development for tasks.
• Assist VDC team during pursuit phase.
• Coordinate workload of VDC Interns and Co-Ops.
