Job SummaryThe VBC Strategy & Performance Lead serves as a senior individual contributor within the Value-Based Care department. The role partners closely with the Director of VBC Customer Success and cross-functional leaders to implement strategic priorities, strengthen ongoing performance management, and improve operational alignment across practices, markets, and enterprise teams.The role requires strong data fluency and the ability to translate complex clinical, operational, and financial performance data into clear recommendations, implementation plans, and measurable actions. Acting as a trusted advisor and execution lead, the VBC Strategy & Performance Lead bridges strategy and frontline operations by evaluating data quality and context, identifying opportunities, anticipating risks, removing barriers, and driving accountability for results.This position does not have direct reports. It leads through influence, subject-matter expertise, structured problem solving, effective cross-functional partnership, and credible customer-facing engagement with practice and physician leaders.Accountabilities:Strategy ImplementationTranslate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, workplans, milestones, and success measures.Lead implementation of complex initiatives spanning practices, markets, and enterprise support teams.Monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and decisions; proactively recommend and coordinate corrective action.Create accountability structures that keep high-priority work aligned and moving.Performance Management & ImprovementLead recurring performance reviews across markets, practices, providers, and strategic programs.Analyze quality, utilization, patient access, scheduling, engagement, and operational performance to identify trends, outliers, and improvement opportunities.Facilitate root-cause assessment and convert findings into focused performance improvement plans.Track intervention effectiveness, refine actions based on results, and help leaders prioritize the highest-impact opportunities and next best actions.Data Fluency & Insight TranslationInterpret and synthesize complex operational, clinical, and financial data into concise insights for leaders and frontline teams.Assess measures, trends, variance, segmentation, and data context to determine what is actionable; question data quality, validate assumptions, and distinguish meaningful signals from reporting noise.Connect multiple data sources and frontline feedback to identify patterns, root causes, and scalable solutions.Partner with Analytics to define business questions, clarify data requirements, improve report usability, validate operational relevance, and develop executive-ready performance narratives, scorecards, recommendations, and decision-support materials.Cross-Functional LeadershipBuild productive partnerships across Analytics, Clinical Services, Product, Practice Operations, Revenue Cycle, and other supporting functions.Align stakeholders around objectives, ownership, timelines, and expected outcomes, and translate customer and frontline needs into clear internal action items.Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities while maintaining momentum; escalate material risks and unresolved barriers with clear context and recommended options.Customer Engagement & CommunicationBuild trusted relationships with practice leaders, physicians, and other customer stakeholders through clear, responsive, and consultative communication.Lead customer-facing discussions that translate VBC performance results, priorities, and recommended actions into practical next steps.Tailor messages and materials to the audience, gather customer feedback, identify emerging needs or concerns, and coordinate timely internal follow-up and resolution.Represent VBC Customer Success professionally in customer meetings, performance reviews, implementation discussions, and issue-resolution conversations.Operational Excellence & Leadership EnablementIdentify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and increase scalability.Develop playbooks, tools, templates, and implementation frameworks that support repeatable execution and sustainable adoption.Prepare business reviews, leadership updates, executive presentations, talking points, and strategic communications.Maintain an integrated view of initiatives, performance risks, dependencies, and upcoming decisions; provide proactive analysis and recommendations and represent VBC Customer Success in selected cross-functional forums.Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.Five or more years of experience in value-based care, healthcare operations, customer success, consulting, analytics, strategy, program management, or performance improvement.Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders without direct authority.Solid data fluency, including the ability to interpret performance measures, evaluate trends and variance, question data quality, identify root causes, and convert findings into recommendations and action plans.Advanced proficiency with Excel and working proficiency with business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.Ability to independently explore data, validate findings, and clearly communicate operational implications.Demonstrated customer-facing communication skills, including experience presenting performance insights, facilitating discussions, managing questions or concerns, and building credibility with practice and physician leaders.Strong project management, facilitation, prioritization, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Medicare Advantage, accountable care, risk-based arrangements, or other value-based care models.Experience in provider operations, practice transformation, clinical program implementation, or population health management.Experience working with physician leaders and executive stakeholders.
