Job summary

Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. is seeking a full-time staff attorney for the Immigration VAWA Project in Tucson. The attorney will represent clients seeking immigration status under VAWA before USCIS and Immigration Court, and may travel to serve rural counties SALA covers.

Duties include outreach to shelters and creating educational materials on VAWA immigration provisions. The role requires a valid Arizona Bar membership or eligibility, with 1–3 years of relevant immigration law experience

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the Arizona Bar or eligible for admission; 1–3 years immigration law experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience serving survivors of domestic violence or immigrants advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Represent applicants seeking immigration status under VAWA and related regulations before USCIS and Immigration Court.
• Conduct outreach to domestic violence shelters and develop educational materials on VAWA provisions.
• Work with low income communities and rural counties SALA serves; participate in outreach and client advocacy.
