RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Vascular Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together!

Position Overview:

As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for noninvasive diagnostic peripheral artery and venous testing. You will assist the department operations lead with technical direction, workflow improvement, and other functions. Your role includes providing patient care through assessment, physical evaluation, and execution of exam procedures, maintaining high medical ethics, and continually enhancing your knowledge of the field.

This is a temporary (PRN) position working day shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Vascular Non-invasive Testing (85%)
  • Conduct individualized patient assessments for vascular procedures.
  • Perform complex exams including upper and lower extremity arterial and venous, venous insufficiency/vein mapping, ABI, skin perfusion, air plethysmography, renal, visceral duplex, and hemodialysis access.
  • Screen patients for precautions or contraindications before exams.
  • Review requisitions to understand procedure requests, clinical history, and patient conditions.
  • Apply sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological findings.
  • Use independent judgment to differentiate normal from pathological findings.
  • Initiate additional imaging procedures as needed for optimal diagnosis.
  • Analyze and synthesize exam information and communicate findings to providers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring offices, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, patients, and families.
  • Accurately document patient records and provide summaries of technical findings.
  • Identify problems, gather relevant data, and suggest solutions.
  • Assist with daily vascular laboratory operations and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Operational Support (10%)
    • Demonstrate proficiency with departmental computers and diagnostic equipment.
    • Maintain departmental documentation and clerical practices.
    • Care for lab equipment and uphold environmental standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement activities.
    • Assist in training new staff, providing technical support.
    • Foster ethical working relationships with partners and referring providers.
    • Support unit goals and plans.
  • Other Duties (5%)
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology Program.
    • Active ARDMS certification in appropriate specialties, with advanced registry in Vascular.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
    • Intraoperative experience.
