Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform echocardiography and vascular studies to support diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders.

You will select equipment, monitor image quality, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team. Requires HD/GED, BLS, and ARDMS/RVT eligibility; 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Position is full-time and on-site in Alabama, with standard clinical duties and safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Certification eligibility: CCI or ARDMS RVT/RVS.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience: Prefer 1-2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram and vascular procedures.
• Monitor ultrasonic patterns and document on media for permanent records.
• Consult with physicians regarding data collection and critical results.
• Operate and inspect equipment; report malfunctions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team on patient information and interventions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values. Performs ultrasound examinations of the peripheral vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the vascular system. Performs ultrasound examinations of the heart and vessels to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the cardiovascular system.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Knowledgeable of and selects appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram procedures and vascular procedures.
• Monitors sound waves for quality of ultrasonic patterns and documents on appropriate media to obtain a permanent record of examination.
• Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects equipment daily to ensure it is operating effectively. Reports malfunctions.
• Collaborates effectively with other members of healthcare team concerning pertinent patient information and interventions needed.
• Completes other duties or task as assigned.
