Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in the Cardiovascular Laboratory, including duplex imaging and echocardiography. The role may involve cross-training in other areas and requires independent patient care with thorough assessment and documentation.

Education includes radiology, nursing, or echo/vascular training with current/pending registration; prior cardiovascular testing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of state accredited school of radiology technology with current or pending registration.
• Graduate of state approved school of professional nursing, or a graduate of accredited echo/vascular school, or licensed practical nursing with current or pending registration.
• Previous on the job training with documented experience.
• Experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory, including but not limited to Duplex imaging and/or echocardiography.

Additional Job Description

Education:

Experience:

• Previous experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing.

Licenses/Certificates:

• RVS/RDCS/RVT/ARDMS or equivalent preferred or eligible to test. Must have obtain approved certification within one year of hire
• Current BLS
