Job summary

Wilmington Health in Wilmington, NC seeks a Vascular Ultrasound Tech to perform ultrasound testing (venous and arterial mapping) as ordered by physicians. This is a full-time position with opportunities to work in the vascular lab.

Responsibilities include prioritizing orders, preparing patients, explaining procedures, and maintaining equipment and records in accordance with safety standards. RDMS/RVT credentials and CPR/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• RDMS credential required.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
• Experience in cardiovascular pathology.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent) or 1–3 months related experience.
• Completion of accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound testing (primarily venous and arterial mapping) as ordered by the physician.
• Prioritize and evaluate patient orders.
• Prepare patient and explain procedures to patient; answer questions carefully and completely.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedure in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physician.
• Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
• Maintain ultrasound and vascular lab equipment in appropriate operating condition.
• Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies.
• Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Summary

Performs ultrasound testing (primarily venous and arterial mapping) as ordered by the physician
