Job summary

AdventHealth Medical Group in Tampa, FL seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide vascular care within a comprehensive team.

You will conduct assessments, coordinate care across teams, assist in surgeries, and educate patients, families, and staff to promote optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP/PA program is required.
• Active Florida APRN or PA‑C license.
• National certification as NP or PA.
• BLS and ACLS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate and manage vascular diseases including PAD, carotid disease, aneurysms, venous disorders, and dialysis access.
• Assist with pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient management.
• First assist in vascular surgical procedures as applicable and credentialed.
• Perform rounds, consultations, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging results.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, plans, procedures, medications, and lifestyle changes.

Education

Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

Current Florida APRN or PA‑C licensure

National certification as an APRN or Physician Assistant

Current BLS and ACLS certification

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aneurysms, venous disorders, and dialysis access conditions.
• Assist with pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative patient management.
• First assist in vascular surgical procedures as applicable and credentialed.
• Perform hospital rounds, consultations, discharge planning, and follow‑up care.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical procedures, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in call coverage and after‑hours patient care as assigned.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, care managers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and evidence‑based practice guidelines.
