Job description

Location: Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), Danville, Pennsylvania. Shift: Rotation. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Worker Type: Regular. Exemption Status: Yes.

Job Summary: Geisinger Vascular Surgery is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible vascular surgeon to join a high-volume academic practice at GMC. The role includes full-spectrum vascular surgery in a tertiary and quaternary referral center, with active participation in education and scholarship. GMC’s vascular service operates in two dedicated hybrid ORs, supports seven medical helicopters, and serves as a regional referral center.

Responsibilities
  • Provide full-spectrum vascular surgical care (inpatient and outpatient).
  • Participate in shared call.
  • Teach and mentor vascular residents, fellows, general surgery residents, and medical students.
  • Engage in academic activity aligned with individual interests (research, quality improvement, clinical trials, device-based innovation).
Qualifications
  • MD or DO.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery training program.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Vascular Surgery.
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure.
  • Academic rank, compensation, and benefits: appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience.
Education

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (required).
