Type of Opportunity: Full time

Summary

Cares for patients hospitalized for neurologic conditions with an emphasis on stroke, including clinical decision making for thrombolysis, thrombectomy and ICU care.

Responsibilities

• Works as a neurohospitalist/stroke neurologist in rotation with other members of the neurohospitalist/ stroke neurology team across the spectrum of care from ED to ICU to floor care to hospital discharge.
• Collaborates with other specialties in the multidisciplinary care of neurology/stroke patients.
• Participates in development and maintenance of clinical pathways in coordination with other specialties to provide highly reliable, high-quality care for stroke patients in alignment with certifying bodies requirements.
• Participates in quality improvement work in stroke and neurology by determining key performance indicators, process metrics and outcomes measures.
• Provides stroke-specific review of cases referred to the medical staff's peer review committee on an ad hoc basis.
• Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and APCs on the neuroscience team (neurology, neurohospitalist, neurosurgery, neurointervention).
