Wareham Public Schools’ Wareham High School seeks a Varsity Softball Coach to lead the school's competitive program after school hours. The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for program development, safety, and ensuring compliance with MIAA rules while fostering sportsmanship and community pride.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate leadership ability in teaching and/or coaching, and direction of a quality sports program.
• Ability to articulate the total athletic program to the school community, parents and the public.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assumes general responsibility for the total sports program.
• Demonstrates supervisory and organizational skills for the program.
• Promotes cooperation, enthusiasm and public relations toward students, faculty, fellow coaches, and the public sector.
• Motivates fellow coaches and student athletes by example.
• Plans, coordinates, supervises, and conducts a sports program based on the latest knowledge of the game; disseminates information to student athletes and fellow coaches.
• Develops standards of conduct and safety for all student athletes and supervises fellow coaches in practice.
• Promotes and adheres to school and district policies and procedures.
• Strict compliance with all MIAA rules and regulations.
• Works with Athletic Director in developing a competitive yearly game schedule.
• Organizes all necessary forms, including user fees, physical forms, parental consent forms and concussion forms.
