Job summary

Seton Catholic Preparatory Baseball is seeking a dedicated Varsity Pitching Coach to lead instruction and development of our pitching staff while supporting student-athletes’ academic, personal, and spiritual growth in alignment with the program’s mission.

The coach will focus on mechanics, arm care, pitch design and strategy, mentor players, and work with lower-level coaches to align a unified pitching philosophy across the Sentinels.

Qualifications

• Experience at high school, collegiate, or professional pitching (playing or coaching) preferred.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• First Aid and CPR certifications.
• NFHS: Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion in Sport, and Heat Illness Prevention.
• Flexible schedule for practices, games, and tournaments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement pitching development programs.
• Oversee arm care, warmups, and workload tracking.
• Manage game strategy, pitch calling, and bullpen management.
• Collaborate with lower-level coaches on a unified pitching philosophy.

Position Type: Coaching / Seasonal Stipend Available

Reports To: Head Varsity Baseball Coach & Athletic Director

Position Overview

Seton Catholic Preparatory Baseball is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and energetic Varsity Pitching Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will lead the instruction, development, and management of our pitching staff while supporting the academic, personal, and spiritual growth of our student-athletes in alignment with Seton Catholic’s mission and core values.We are looking for a leader who is passionate about mechanical development, arm care, pitch design/strategy, and building a competitive, team-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

• * Pitcher Development: Design and execute dynamic throwing programs, bullpen sessions, velocity/command routines, and mechanical adjustments for Varsity pitchers.
• * Arm Care & Recovery: Implement strict arm care, warm-up/cool-down protocols, and workload tracking to prioritize long-term pitcher health and injury prevention.
• * Game Strategy & Pitch Calling: Oversee pitch selection, execute scouting reports, and manage pitch counts and bullpens during Varsity games.
• * Program Alignment: Work alongside lower-level coaches to establish a unified pitching philosophy and developmental pipeline across the Sentinels baseball program.
• * Mentorship & Culture: Serve as a positive role model, holding student-athletes to high standards on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

Qualifications & AIA Requirements

Experience: High school, collegiate, or professional pitching experience (playing or coaching preferred).

Required State/AIA Certifications (Must be active or completed prior to the season)
