Position Summary

Allendale High School's Head Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach is responsible for overseeing the Boys Varsity Volleyball team at Allendale High School. The mission of Allendale Public Schools is to educate, inspire, and support all students.

Description

Organize and work with the Athletic Director to lead, coach, and direct the high school Varsity Volleyball season.

Qualifications

• Must possess a love of the sport and an interest in helping individuals reach their highest potential.
• Must be a good role model for student- athletes.
• Must have current knowledge of rules, fundamentals, teamwork, and must be able to relate to and teach teenage students.
• Must demonstrate strong commitment to building a successful program for student- athletes.
• Evidence of successful coaching experience at the high school level preferred.
• Evidence of expertise in teaching the fundamentals of individual skills and team play.
• Evidence of the ability to develop a successful program.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong organizational skills.
• Teacher certification preferred but not required.

Job Requirements

Must be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies, or staff members.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

• Must require standing and walking.
• Must involve frequent lifting of 20-50 pounds.
• Must involve listening, speaking clearly, and visual acuity.
• Must involve immersion in loud sports environments, including but not limited to whistles, buzzers, and yelling.
• Must involve frequent use of technology (e.g., typing, software use, etc., for game planning).
