Job summary

North Smithfield High School in North Smithfield, Rhode Island is seeking a Varsity/Head Coach for Boys Lacrosse. The role reports to the Athletic Director and Building Administrator and involves advising and coordinating a team of coaches and student-athletes.

Responsibilities include organizing practices, ensuring safety, coordinating scheduling, travel, and compliance with RIIL rules; maintaining program quality and staff development.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island Certification as Secondary Teacher preferable.
• Valid Rhode Island Coaches’ Certificate.
• Valid first aid and CPR certificate.
• NFHS certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by staff.
• Design staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program.
• Inform staff of regulations, pending activities, and other issues.
• Delegate specific duties, supervise, implement, and work with staff to improve the total program.
• Assist the Athletic Director with scheduling, providing transportation, and tournament and special sports events.
• Ensure a safe environment for the program.
• Advise the Athletic Director and recommend policy, method, or procedural changes.

Education

Rhode Island Certification as Secondary Teacher (preferable)

Rhode Island Coaches’ Certificate

First aid and CPR certificate

NFHS certification
