Job Summary
Under the close supervision of the Recreation Specialist – Aquatics, the Swim Team Coach expands and perfects the swim team’s abilities while ensuring swimmer safety. The coach creates a variety of workouts, teaches correct competitive strokes using diverse swimming techniques, drills, and games, evaluates individual and team performance, explains techniques, and assists with skill improvement. The coach monitors pool activities during swim meets and practices and demonstrates genuine interest and enthusiasm for all swimmers.

- Variable (at‑will) employee; part‑time seasonal or temporary capacity.
- Pay Rate: $22.00/hr.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coach weeknights (CARA) and/or weekends (Master’s).
- Attend swim meets on weekends.
- Perform office tasks including creating swim cards for meets, emailing participants, recording team attendance, distributing swim awards, and creating daily workouts.
Reporting Relationships
Receives general supervision from the Aquatics Specialist.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective interaction with participants and the public in a positive manner.
- Use of effective instructional methods and techniques, including modeling those techniques to participants.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Qualifications
- Previous group swim team experience (e.g., USA Swimming, Summer Club).
- Previous coaching experience.
- Current American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR Certifications or equivalent, or in the process of obtaining them.
- Background check required.
Pay & Benefits
Pay range: $14.81–$57.41 (based on role and experience). Variable employees are part‑time and do not receive the regular benefits offered to full‑time positions.
