Job summary

Sentinel Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation and Pension Examinations for veterans. The role requires ownership of your own office and a commercial practice location, with exams scheduled 1–3 days per week and potential flexible hours.

Board-certified NPs with VA or workman’s compensation experience are ideal. A 1099 contract arrangement is described, with the opportunity to design your own schedule while supporting veterans’ benefits processes.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioners (1099)
• One year NP experience or prior VA work ideal
• Design your own schedule (7 days a week, weekends encouraged) with 3–7 days a month preferred
• Preferred VA/workman’s compensation or disability exams experience

Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation and Pension Examinations on Veterans
• Review digital medical records thoroughly
• Conduct physical assessments for specific disability claims
• Submit information through an online portal for VA review as part of claims

Contract Position to do Compensation, Pension and Disability Examinations

Must have your own OFFICE.

Your Office Must be at a Commercial Location (Not Home Based)

Must have Your Own Malpractice Insurance (Where You are the Named Insured)

Must have Commercial Liability Insurance for Your Practice Location

Must have a Collaborative Agreement (if required by your state)

Must have 2 years of Clinical Experience

Responsibilities:

• Perform Compensation and Pension Examinations on Veterans
• Complete a thorough review of digital medical records
• Conduct a physical assessment based on specific disability claims
• Submit information gathered through an online portal for the VA to review as part of a compensation/pension claim.
• All exams will take place at approved facilities with proper equipment and internet access provided.
• Must be able to perform exams a minimum of 1 to 3 days per week
• If you have your own practice, you can conduct these exams with a flexible schedule that works with your current patient scheduling.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioners (1099)
• One year NP Experience or some prior VA work is ideal.
• Design your own schedule (7 days a week, weekends encouraged). Availability of at least 3 to 7 days a month is preferred.
• Preferred experience performing Veteran exam, workman’s compensation exams or any disability exams Prior VA employee or any relationship with Veterans.
