Job summary

Pioneer Industrial Corporation, a unit within Flow Control Group, seeks a Valve Technician to perform valve assembly, repair, and certification in a shop setting and at customer sites. In-house and factory training are provided.

The role involves following safety procedures, handling tools, and occasional travel. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, enjoy hands-on work with tools, and can document results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school desired.
  • Ability to learn the trade and operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Basic computer literacy to document work and service data.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety and quality procedures and regulations.
  • Operate equipment such as hoists, sand blaster, and torches.
  • Disassemble valves without damaging parts per manuals.
  • Document and enter job data into the ValvKeep database.
  • Coordinate with office on repair requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble valves per manuals.
  • Support field assignments as needed and travel may be required.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot/cold environments.

Job Overview:

With 7 facilities covering 10 states, Pioneer sells and services industrial equipment for the power, chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The industrial equipment Pioneer sells and services include Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs), Control Valves, Manual Valves, Actuation, Instrumentation, Pumps, Blowers, Mechanical Seals, and Fluid Sealing applications. Valve and industrial equipment assembly and repair have been the cornerstone of Pioneers business for over 37 years and continues to grow. The role of a Valve Technician would be to perform the essential duties of new valve assembly, repair and certification of various types of valves in a shop setting as well as onsite at a customer facility. In-house training along with factory supplemented training is provided. Pioneer provides great potential for upward growth.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Follow all Pioneer Safety and Quality procedures and regulations
  • Operate equipment – overhead hoists, sand blaster, parts washer, propylene torch, etc.
  • Disassemble valve without damaging parts per the manufacturer’s Installation & Operation Manual
  • Document and enter job data into ValvKeep database and document photos
  • Coordinate with office personnel on repair requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain equipment in area, as required
  • Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components
  • Return Valves/Parts to Proper Bins, Boxes, etc.
  • Assemble, calibrate, tag and certify valve per manufacturer’s repair manuals
  • May be required to help in field assignments
  • May be required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
  • Operate motor vehicle, as required
  • Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED. Desire a technical or trade school degree.
  • The right candidate will the ability to learn our trade and has experience working hand and power tools.
