Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a Value Based Analyst to develop reports, financial models, and processes to support value-based care initiatives. This role focuses on metrics, data presentation, and timely dashboards to enable informed leadership decisions.

The ideal candidate will live within driving distance of the Omaha, NE office with remote flexibility and one day per week in the office. 2+ years of healthcare experience and Agile experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, analytics, business, healthcare administration, or another relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, including value-based care support, or related experience.
• Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high paced environment, handling multiple responsibilities and projects.
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with others.
• Proactive about requesting enough information to fully understand and meet the business need.
• Experience with the Agile project delivery methodology.

Responsibilities

• Develop reports to track, trend, and analyze metrics necessary to evaluate performance under each value-based contract and across the portfolio of contracts.
• Create, modify, maintain, and enhance existing business processes, contracts, program data, and methodologies to support value-based care initiatives.
• Develop financial models, processes and/or create solutions, using analytic tools, to produce accurate and timely completion of value-based care initiatives.
• Monitor and reconcile value-based care financial payment processes and program performance measurement (finance/cost and utilization).
• Interpret, communicate, and present results to all levels of management in consistent and easy to understand formats to facilitate fact-based decision-making. Update financial dashboards for all levels of leadership.
• Build and maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders and key external client contacts (e.g. Providers/VBC Partners, Internal Clinicians, Vendors, BCBS Association, Blues Plans, Auditors).
• Participate in internal and external audits, surveys, process and procedure documentation, system modernization changes and associated activities, regarding value-based care initiatives, to ensure ongoing compliance to standards.
• Maintain knowledge of current business processes, policies, and procedures and evaluate impact to these by changes, pending or actual, in federal or state regulations or BCBS Association mandates.

The Value Based Analyst is responsible for developing and documenting reports, processes, and financial models to provide operational support to the value-based care program. This position will be focused on creating the metrics and analyses, as well as assisting with presenting and communicating data, so that leaders can make informed decisions. Additional work on internal and external audits will also be required.

The ideal candidate will live within driving distance of the Omaha, Nebraska office. This position allows remote flexibility but will have 1 day per week in the office.

If living in one of our approved states (Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas) – this person may travel to our headquarters based on business needs.

What you'll do:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Intermediate proficiency with visualization tools such as PowerBI.

• Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines.
