Job summary

Boulay Financial Advisors, LLC in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a motivated Valuation Intern to join our Consulting team. You will assist on valuation projects, build financial models, and develop reports under mentorship.

You'll gain exposure to due-diligence and transaction consulting, with hands-on training, a collaborative environment, and opportunities to present findings to clients. This paid internship runs January through April and can be part-time or full-time, depending on schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA with a strong academic record.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; May 2028 or May 2029 graduation are acceptable.
• Completion of introductory accounting and intermediate accounting I courses.
• Detail oriented with solid organizational skills.
• Exemplary communication (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Research various clients, industries, economic trends, markets and competitors.
• Conduct financial analysis and build financial models for transactions, enterprise valuations, equity/debt valuations, purchase price allocations, IP valuations, stock option valuations, etc.
• Apply valuation approaches and methods, including discounted cash flow analyses and market valuation multiples.
• Develop detailed financial models with income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts for valuation and consulting purposes.
• Write business valuation reports and proposals with information from research and analysis.
• Present findings to the Consulting team and to current or future clients.
• Assist on additional special projects as assigned.

You will prepare in-depth client research, build financial models, apply valuation methodology, and develop reports and proposals. Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and build financial models for a variety of purposes (e.g. transactions, enterprise valuations, equity and debt securities valuations, purchase price allocations, intellectual property valuations, stock option valuations, etc.)
• Apply valuation approaches and methods, including discounted cash flow analyses and analyses of market valuation multiples
• Develop detailed financial models with income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts for a variety of valuation and consulting purposes
• Write business valuation reports and proposals with information gathered through research and financial analysis
• Present findings both internally to Consulting team and to current or future clients
• Additional special projects as assigned

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred, or finance, will be considered
• Finance majors with a minor in accounting will be considered
• May 2028 or May 2029 graduation date
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and a solid track record of academic achievements
• Completion of introduction accounting and intermediate accounting one courses
• Detail oriented with sound organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
• Exemplary communication (oral and written)

This internship can be either part-time or full-time. Internships are paid experiences which run January through end of April in our Minneapolis, MN office. We recruit well in advance of this time frame to allow you flexibility and time to make arrangements for housing and required classes.

The wage for this position is $31.00 per hour. This salary range reflects anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending on an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
