Job summary

Grain Valley R-5 School District is seeking dependable Afternoon Substitute Facilitators to support the After School program in Grain Valley, Missouri. You will supervise students, organize activities, assist with homework, serve snacks, and maintain a safe environment.

This part-time role is for the 3:30 PM–6:00 PM window with potential for additional substitute opportunities on inclement weather days or full days as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supervising children in a camp, educational or daycare program is preferred.
• Ability to develop appropriate relationships with children, coworkers and parents.
• Have a sincere interest in working with children.
• Reliable and dependable to work scheduled hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate appropriately with students, staff members and parents.
• Ability to be flexible in working with others in a variety of different circumstances.
• Ability to lift, bend and keep pace with children during their workday.
• Demonstrated ability to handle information with utmost confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Attends meetings and professional developments as needed for the purpose of acquiring information relative to job functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the site lead and/or department director.

Grain Valley Schools is currently seeking dependable, dedicated individuals to serve as After School Substitute Facilitators for the school year. This position will provide support to the program on an as-needed basis, with specific responsibilities including organizing and directing age-appropriate activities for school-age students, serving snacks, providing assistance with homework as needed, and helping maintain a clean and safe environment for students.

Work Environment

• Afternoon program operates from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
• Weekly hours and site location will vary based on program staffing needs
• Additional substitute opportunities may be available on full days and inclement weather days

Salary: $15 to $17.25 Per Hour
