Base is seeking a Validation Technician to build the test infrastructure that lets us ship new hardware and software with confidence. You’ll translate engineering designs into physical test benches and fixtures, from low-voltage harnesses to 240/480V power circuits, built to run around the clock.
You’ll document every build so future stations go up in days, not weeks, and you’ll collaborate with engineering to decide what to fabricate in-house vs.
Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
We’re looking for a Validation Technician to build the test infrastructure that lets Base ship new hardware and software with confidence. You’ll turn engineering designs into physical test benches and fixtures - from low-voltage signal harnesses to 240/480V power circuits - built to run around the clock.
As Base’s fleet grows, we need more test capacity, fast. Every station you build should be documented well enough that the next one goes up in days, not weeks - no re-engineering the fixture from scratch each time. You’ll work closely with engineering to know what to build, when to fabricate in-house, and when to send a part out.

About the Team
The validation team builds and maintains the test infrastructure Base depends on to validate new hardware and software before it reaches the field. Every battery and every piece of software Base ships gets proven out on a bench or fixture this team built first. As the fleet grows, so does the number of stations we need - our job is to make sure adding capacity means building the next station from a documented, proven design, not starting over. You’ll work across signal-level wiring and 240/480V power, and see your fixes and builds running in the background of everything Base ships.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
