Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Software Validation Engineer in Palo Alto to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of Supercharger subsystems. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and expanding Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) validation platforms used to test subsystems before deployment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software validation, test automation, systems engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and/or SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing environments.
• Production-level experience with Python and C or C++.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing methodologies.
• Functional safety testing or safety compliance experience.
• EV charging, automotive, energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HIL and SIL test environments for Supercharger subsystems.
• Create simulated environments that emulate vehicles, charging equipment, power cabinets, and other connected systems.
• Design and execute automated regression testing for charging workflows, system availability, billing functionality, and site operations.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks to improve product quality and testing coverage.
• Support functional safety validation efforts and generate compliance reports.
• Partner with firmware, software, hardware, and QA teams to identify issues and improve system reliability.
• Support validation efforts for new charging products, including Superchargers and Mega Chargers.

This role focuses on building, maintaining, and expanding Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) validation platforms used to test Supercharger subsystems before deployment. The ideal candidate has experience developing automated test frameworks, working with embedded systems, and validating complex hardware/software products. What You'll Do
