  • Follow up with guests to ensure requests are resolved and document any incidents (damages, thefts, etc.).

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transportation, the Valet Attendant provides best-in‑class front door vehicle and luggage service to guests entering and exiting Yaamava Resort & Casino. Ensures all guests’ arrival and departure valet experiences are memorable, unique, and in alignment with brand standards/expectations – requiring a high level of professionalism, anticipatory service, and enthusiasm focusing on guest comfort. Contributes to the mission and vision by creating a positive and productive working environment. Maintains a positive attitude and public image while delivering authentic greetings, and cordial farewells, centered on a sense of personal service.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides professional and courteous service to each and every guest while always maintaining a sense of urgency. Exceeds guest expectations through positive interactive skills. Greets all arriving and guests in a timely, professional, friendly, and efficient manner while opening doors, and providing information and directions as needed.
  • Handles all accommodating special requests whenever possible; assists guests in all inquiries in connection with resort and casino services, hours of operations, key resort and casino personnel, and in-house events.
  • Parks and retrieves guest vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to established safety protocols in accordance to all state laws. Properly secures all guest keys and vehicles according to department policy.
  • Follows up with guests to ensure their requests or concerns have been resolved to their satisfaction. Documents and reports all vehicle incidents like damages, accidents, thefts, missing articles, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Educational, Experience And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of driving experience required.

Required Licenses, Certifications And Registrations
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Valid California Commercial Driver’s License, Commercial Class C or higher, with a passenger endorsement preferred.
  • Select One of the Following for Driving Responsibilities: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment
  • Primary work environment is in an outdoor desert environment with corresponding extreme hot and cold temperature ranges.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, be able to run up to fourteen (14) miles, navigate steep inclines/declines (over 15% grade change), varying surfaces (dirt, pebble, pavement), and ascend/descend eighty (100) flights of stairs per shift.
  • Mobility sufficient to enter/exit a wide range of vehicle types safely and efficiently – including, but not limited to smaller sports vehicles with tight entry points as well as lifted vehicles requiring a higher-than-normal entry point.
  • Must have the stamina to stand for extended periods of time while remaining vibrant and friendly.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
