Job summary

RECONN is hiring vacuum excavation team members in the North Royalton/Medina, OH area for daytime, full-time roles. The job involves traveling to sites, performing hydro-excavation tasks such as core drilling, shoveling, and back filling, while documenting work and adhering to safety standards.

Training is provided and some overtime may be required. No prior industry experience is necessary; valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally are required.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Utility and/or construction experience preferred.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record; CDL position requires CDL A or B.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Able to stand and walk long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to identify wiring colors and locate utilities.
• Computer proficiency and ability to reference locate tickets/maps.

Responsibilities

Starting pay is $25- $35 per hour depending, on experience.

We are currently hiring throughout the North Royalton and Medina, OH area.

These are daytime, full-time positions, and some overtime may be required. Training will be provided. No industry experience is necessary.

Vacuum Excavation team members are responsible for traveling to an assigned work site to perform vacuum excavation. There are several different names for this type of work, including: hydro-excavation, potholing, keyholing and air-vac. Vacuum excavation involves soil extraction through vacuum when using pressurized water or air for breaking ground.

This position requires you to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and use a company provided laptop to document the project. You will perform various vacuum excavation activities near utilities, including: core drilling, shoveling, back filling and construction labor.

What We Need From You (Our Requirements)

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Previous outdoor experience is a plus.

• Must currently possess or have the ability to possess a DOT medical card.

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Computer proficiency
• Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners. Customer service experience is a plus.
