JSW Steel Limited seeks an experienced VTD Helper to support the Vacuum Tank Degasser operations in our heavy industry plant in Ohio. You will assist with equipment setup, material handling, monitoring conditions, and safe workflow alongside operators and QC staff.

You must be safety-focused, physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime in a high-heat environment. Prior steelmaking exposure is a plus.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to work safely in extreme heat and high noise levels.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability are essential.
• Experience in steelmaking or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
• Overhead crane and/or forklift experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the VTD Operator with equipment setup, operation, and shutdown of the vacuum degassing system.
• Prepare ladles, hoses, alloy additions, and sampling tools prior to treatment.
• Monitor equipment for leaks, pressure, temp changes, and abnormal conditions.
• Communicate process conditions to the Operator and Supervisor.
• Follow safety rules, PPE, lockout/tagout, and hot metal protocols.
• Maintain safe conditions around molten steel, heavy equipment, and cranes.
• Report hazards, malfunctions, or unsafe behavior to supervision.
• Assist with delivery, staging, and handling of alloys for VTD.
• Safely manage slag and debris with hand tools.
• Support sample collection and timely transfer to QC.
