Job summary

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • Proven experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Must be willing to travel for jobs that require multiple days on location.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on vacuum trucks.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each job and material disposal.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to team members, supervisors, and clients promptly.
  • Act as part of the emergency response team for spills or accidents and support disaster response.
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout operations.

Atakapa Services, LLC (A Waggoner Company) is hiring a Vac Truck Operator for our New Orleans operations.

Atakapa Services specializes in evaluating, maintaining and designing rehabilitation methods for sanitary sewer and storm drain infrastructure. We work with municipalities, wastewater utility contractors and engineering firms to inspect, clean, and rehabilitate their underground wastewater and drainage infrastructure. We provide a comprehensive range of services and reports to help our clients address the most complex sewer and storm drain operation and maintenance problems.

Responsibilities

As a Vac Truck Operator at Atakapa Services, you will play a crucial role in our operations by operating and maintaining vacuum trucks to ensure the safe and efficient removal of various materials. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
  • Operation of Vacuum Trucks:
    • Safely operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials.
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures during the operation of equipment.
  • Maintenance and Inspection:
    • Conduct routine maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure proper functioning.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each job and material disposal.
  • Communication:
    • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate job tasks effectively.
    • Communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment or job site conditions promptly.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Act as part of the emergency response team in case of spills or accidents, following established protocols.
    • Disaster response such as hurricanes.
