Atakapa Services, LLC (A Waggoner Company) seeks a Vac Truck Operator in New Orleans, LA. The role focuses on safely operating vacuum trucks, performing routine maintenance, and documenting disposal activities, while ensuring compliance with health and environmental regulations.

You will collaborate with a team, communicate site needs to supervisors and clients, and participate in emergency response for spills and storms. CDL required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum trucks safely to collect, transport, and dispose of materials.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations; maintain records.
• Coordinate with team, supervisors, and clients to plan tasks.
• Act as part of the emergency response team for spills or hurricanes.

Atakapa Services, LLC (A Waggoner Company) is hiring a Vac Truck Operator for our New Orleans operations.

Atakapa Services specializes in evaluating, maintaining and designing rehabilitation methods for sanitary sewer and storm drain infrastructure. We work with municipalities, wastewater utility contractors and engineering firms to inspect, clean, and rehabilitate their underground wastewater and drainage infrastructure. We provide a comprehensive range of services and reports to help our clients address the most complex sewer and storm drain operation and maintenance problems.

Responsibilities

• Operation of Vacuum Trucks:
  • Safely operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures during the operation of equipment.
• Maintenance and Inspection:
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
• Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each job and material disposal.
• Communication:
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate job tasks effectively.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment or job site conditions promptly.
• Emergency Response:
  • Act as part of the emergency response team in case of spills or accidents, following established protocols.
  • Disaster response such as hurricanes.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
• Proven experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Must be willing to travel for jobs that require multiple days on location

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions
• Good physical fitness and stamina
