Job summary

Leidos is seeking a V2X Systems Engineer to work on-site in McLean, VA, contingent on contract award. You will own the engineering process from concept to deployment for connected vehicle systems alongside software, hardware, and transportation researchers.

The role requires 6+ years of systems engineering experience, ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, and hands-on integration/testing across Linux/Windows with Python, MATLAB, and R. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of engineering experience with complex systems.
• 3+ years creating system requirements using systems engineering processes.
• Ability to plan and execute integration, verification, or validation testing.
• Understand the link between requirements and testing; hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Comfort working with Linux and Windows; proficient in Python, MATLAB, or R.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance and valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Develop Concepts of Operations, user needs, architectures, and requirements.
• Translate operational needs into clear technical requirements.
• Collaborate with software, communications, and transportation researchers.
• Review documentation to keep requirements complete and verifiable.
• Develop verification strategies, test plans, and procedures.
• Integrate hardware/software in lab and field environments; perform validation.
• Document results and report findings to stakeholders.
