Job description

About TechSmith:

{DEVELOP} with us

At TechSmith, we make screen capture software and solutions that are perfect for anyone who wants to create and share images and videos for better training, tutorials, lessons and everyday communication.

We’re always on the lookout for students who are eager to learn, grow, and make a difference. We offer paid internships for full‑time students in software development, sales, marketing, and more.

Join any meeting or office in our company — we bet you can’t tell an intern from a full‑timer. TechSmith is a perfect place to grow your skills alongside your time in the classroom.

{DEVELOP} differently

Come as you are. At TechSmith, it’s about the work you do, not what you wear. Our dress code is laidback, so everyone is comfortable and can focus on what matters most helping our customers stand out and share what they know.

We’re all equal, really. Everyone at TechSmith is valued and accessible. Doors —and minds —are open. Your voice matters, not your title. Company leaders will know your name and are eager for your ideas. You are trusted and empowered to make decisions and get the job done.

{DEVELOP} together

As soon as you accept your role at TechSmith, you’re officially a “TechSmithie.” It’s like you’ve found your people — smart, fun, and slightly nerdy (OK, maybe a lot nerdy). Each TechSmithie adds their own unique spice to our ever‑changing culture. What will you bring to the mix?

Job Overview:

At TechSmith, customer‑focus is our number one priority. We take pride in crafting products and experiences that are easy to use and approachable. Design is at the center of translating user needs, analyzing market opportunities and transforming technical capability into experiences that our users love.

As a User Experience (UX) Designer for our marketing site properties, you will be putting your skills for crafting great experiences to use every day. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help bridge departments to create online experiences that showcase TechSmith’s robust product offerings and ensure all consumers navigate their way to success.

Your responsibilities will include working with the marketing team, growth leads, business stakeholders and software engineers to advocate for users and define best practice UX patterns and workflows to maximize conversion through our site and ecommerce experiences. You’ll use the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other tools to prototype, validate, and refine your designs with users and stakeholders and then collaborate with development teams to implement.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Design & Conversion: Leads the design and optimization of digital experiences across a global marketing site structure and e‑commerce conversion funnels. Focuses on user‑centered design, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, including digital marketing and development, to create seamless and intuitive experiences that drive user engagement and increase conversion rates. Seek alignment of business goals and user needs.
    • Develop and iterate on wireframes, prototypes and user flows in a collaborative, agile environment.
  • Visual Brand Steward: applies the visual identity across user experiences to bring the brand vision to life. Supports the evolution of the visual and interactive expression of the brand in digital experiences. Works across marketing to align user experience with storytelling and brand voice.
    • Ensures brand consistency in UX design, layout, and user flow across all platforms.
    • Translates messaging into compelling, user‑friendly digital experiences.
    • Supports the ongoing in‑house design and brand standards supporting the onboarding of 3rd parties to those brand standards as needed
  • Data Analysis and Experimentation: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze customer behavior, and use data‑driven insights to refine strategies and improve conversion performance. Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user experience.
  • Marketing Integration: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute digital campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media to drive traffic and sales.
  • Customer Experience: Advocate for the user. Encourage conversations around personas, user tasks, and goals throughout the design and development processes. Ensure a seamless and satisfying customer journey from awareness to purchase and post‑purchase support through the lens of UX. Collaborate with digital marketing, product, and development teams to optimize conversion‑focused landing pages and site structure.
  • Accessibility: Be a champion of accessibility across user experiences, especially across owned properties.
  • Mentor: Provide mentorship on UX to others, ensure design consistency, and oversee the testing and iteration of designs to enhance the overall customer journey.
  • Design Trends & Best Practices: Stay informed of current design trends and bring new techniques and methods to the marketing team.
