Job summary

Popular is seeking a UX/UI developer to work with back-end developers and designers to optimize the website for multiple devices and deliver immersive experiences that align with company goals.

You will design wireframes, implement frontend solutions using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and ensure accessibility and usability while adhering to Popular's design system. Strong collaboration and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

General Description

The UX/UI developer will work with back-end developers and web designers to ensure that the website is optimized for several devices in an appealing manner. The primary goal is to improve Popular user satisfaction via the development of best-in-class digital user experiences by creating immersive, personalized experiences, and ensure company goals are reached.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop phototypes and/or wireframes based on requirements.
• Take a user-centric design approach and iterate the design solution.
• Work with other developers to ensure that the website is functional and visually appealing.
• Ensure development is in accordance with style guides and other requirements of Popular’s design systems.
• Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary.
• Solve problems creatively and efficiently. Think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to user problems.
• Needs to have a deep understanding of user experience (UX).
• Seeks to enhance the user experience of a specific assigned initiative.
• Collaborate with team to develop overall concepts for improving the user experience within a webpage or product, ensuring all interactions are intuitive and convenient for customers.
• Write functional requirement documents and guides.

Education

Bachelor's degree in: Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a front-end developer.

Certifications / Licenses

Excellent report-writing and presentation skills. Polished in preparing presentations, executive summaries, and business reports in English for executive audiences

Strong quantitative, research and analytical skills. Experience with data analysis, persuasive and informative writing, workload management, and process management.

Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.

Project Management: Ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects and tasks with minimum supervision; self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly. Capacity to achieve results according to plan ensuring the expected quality. Excellent organization capacity to define priorities, meet deadlines, and flexible to change. Knowledge on project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management and status reports. Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills.

Operational/Regulations Processes: Knowledge on budget administration, resources allocation, organization’s policies, and regulations. Ability to establish, conduct and track operational processes properly.

Computer and Technological Skills: Proficient in MS Office 365. Experience with software’s, platforms, and programming languages tools such as: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, among others is desired. Understanding and proficiency of key design and front-end principles. Possess excellent well-structured coding skills and be able to translate design specifications into code. Must have strong software development skills, including experience with object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
