Job description

About:

We’re on a mission to redefine the GRC space and transform how businesses approach governance, risk, and compliance. We thrive on innovation, collaboration, and the drive to exceed expectations.

Working at Compyl is much more than a job. It’s for those searching for an opportunity to forge a new path, create new markets, and attempt to do things that have never been done before. Each day, we challenge the status quo by critically thinking of innovative ways to solve the problems organizations face in the information security and compliance industry.

Compyl leads the information security industry with a cutting-edge, all-in-one automated security solution for organizations facing compliance and regulatory challenges.

Our product rapidly matures customers’ information security environments, automating workflows to ensure manual, error-prone, redundant tasks are always complete and accounted for. Our cloud-based services use unique integrations so that customers can foresee incidents, capitalize on opportunities, and advance their organizations without having to worry about compliance concerns.

Working with Compyl:

Joining our team means becoming part of a forward-thinking, fast-paced environment where your hard work fuels our collective success. If you’re passionate about making an impact and want to grow alongside a company that’s shaping the future of GRC, we’d love to have you on board. Let’s build something extraordinary—together.

As a Product Designer and the second designer on the team, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping our product experience. We’re looking for a UX generalist with a strong foundation on UC principles.

You’ll complement our current team who bring deep expertise in user research and flow design, by elevating the visual layer and crafting polished, delightful interfaces. You’ll collaborate closely across the product team to translate insights into high-impact design solutions that are as usable as they are visually compelling.

You’ll also help evolve our design systems, improve processes, and advocate for design excellence across the company. If you’re looking to drive meaningful product work in a fast-moving, design-forward environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Your Role

  • Support the design of new features and experiences through the entire 0–1 product development cycle.
  • Translate research insights into thoughtful, scalable, and visually stunning designs.
  • Create and maintain high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and reusable components in Figma.
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineering leads to define the product roadmap and scope.
  • Drive UI consistency and system-level thinking by contributing to and evolving our design system.
  • Use data, user feedback, and intuition to iterate rapidly and make informed design decisions.
  • Help define and improve our team’s design processes, rituals, and standards.
  • Advocate for design excellence across the organization.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation by partnering closely with engineering throughout the development cycle.

You

  • Passionate UX generalist with a strong foundation on UC principles.
  • You are a motivated, enthusiastic person looking for a rewarding position with an innovative startup and want to achieve big things with us.
  • You check your ego at the door and react well to feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills that you’ll use to relay technical information to various team members & stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a team environment but can also work independently.
  • You’re aware and willing to understand there are many ways to complete a task. You’re open and willing to collaborate on alternative solutions to the norm.
  • You are naturally curious about technologies.
  • Problem solve potential roadblocks which could potentially impact the financial, strategic, and technical goals of the business.
  • You are passionate about creating innovating and exciting new technology and want to provide customers with the best possible experience.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive experience designing B2B or SaaS products at a senior or staff level.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases beautifully executed product interfaces and end-to-end design thinking.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Figma, including design systems and prototyping tools.
  • Deep understanding of modern UX and UI principles, with the ability to balance usability, scalability, and aesthetics.
  • Experience with user research methods and incorporating feedback into iterative design cycles.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate design rationale and align stakeholders.

Bonus

  • WCAG experience.
  • Motion/animation skills or experience designing for security, compliance, or enterprise workflows.

What we offer in return

  • Remote Working or come to our Manhattan or Boston offices. We don’t mind.
  • Fantastic market niche. You will be joining a fast-growing market segment with lots of untapped customer demand and experience in a fast growing sector of IT.
  • No micromanagement or big-company bureaucracy. Our experienced Co-Founders are there to help you succeed but also trust that you are the expert and therefore know best.
  • Flexible PTO to give our employees a little extra R&R when they need it
  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive health coverage
  • A robust stock option plan to give our employees a direct stake in Compyl
