Job summary

Pinterest is seeking inquisitive, collaborative UX Engineer interns to bridge design and frontend engineering. You’ll prototype ideas, contribute to our design system, and translate research into polished interfaces. You’ll work with mentors across product, design, data, and engineering and ship accessible, delightful experiences for our Pinners.

We offer in-office collaboration 1-2 times per week, with hybrid work near San Francisco. US-based applicants only; relocation may be available.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Master’s program in CS, statistics, psychology, sociology, applied sciences or related field
• Master’s in CS/Statistics/Psychology/Sociology/Applied sciences or related field by 2027
• Previous Software Engineering internships
• Passion for solving UX problems and improving Pinner experience
• Proficiency in a dynamic programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, etc.)
• Ability to learn from experiences

• Take ownership of tasks and progress with guidance from mentor and team
• Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build Pinterest
• Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
• Bridge design and engineering teams to align on solutions

We're looking for inquisitive, collaborative UX Engineer interns to bridge design and frontend engineering. Partnering with mentors across product, design, data, and engineering, you'll prototype and validate ideas, contribute to our design system, and translate research into polished, performant interfaces. What you'll do:

• Take ownership over the completion and quality of your tasks and project while incorporating guidance from your mentor, manager, and peers
• Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build the future of Pinterest
• Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
• Bridge design and engineering teams
• Communicate new ideas and opinions with candor as you grow both professionally and personally through learning and development opportunities

What we're looking for:

• This position requires current enrollment in a school or education program in which the individual is working towards a Master's in statistics, psychology, sociology, applied sciences, computer science or related field
• Obtain Master's in computer science, statistics, psychology, sociology, applied sciences or related field by 2027
• Previous Software Engineering internships
• Passion for solving user-experience problems / upleveling the quality of the Pinner experience
• Proficiency in a dynamic programming language such as JavaScript, CSS, C++, HTML, Python, Java, Go-we use a variety of programming languages and tools
• Ability to continually learn from your experiences

We offer 2 internship start dates:

• May 17, 2027 - August 6, 2027
• June 14, 2027 - September 3, 2027

In-Office Requirement:

• We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
• This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration [1-2 times per week] and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices [San Francisco].

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.

The minimum and maximum salary for this position is $8,250 - $11,000 monthly.
