Amazon's Prime UX Design team seeks an AI-fluent UX Designer to evolve the Prime Design Library (PDL) and build a scalable, reusable component system used across Prime experiences. You will collaborate with UX designers, front-end engineers, and product teams to translate design intent into robust components for global use.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience.
• Online portfolio or samples demonstrating end-to-end, user-centered design across desktop and mobile.

• AI fluent with proficiency in AI design tools, variants, auto-layout, component properties, and design tokens.
• Experience creating, organizing, and documenting reusable design components for multi-product use.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and platform conventions.

The Amazon Prime UX Design team is at the heart of the Prime membership. We innovate and design on behalf of our customers and are relentlessly focused on improving the membership experience to delight hundreds of millions of customers around the globe. We are seeking an AI-fluent UX Designer to join our Design Systems team and drive the day-to-day evolution of the Prime Design Library (PDL). In this role, you will be a builder and maintainer of our component library, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across all Prime customer experiences. You will partner closely with UX designers, front-end engineers, and product teams to translate design intent into well-structured, reusable components that power Prime globally. This is a hands‑on, technically curious design role. You will bridge the gap between visual design craft and systematic thinking, working at the intersection of design tooling, component architecture, and engineering collaboration. The ideal candidate is passionate about bringing order to complexity, loves the details of how components are named, layered, and configured, and is excited about emerging agentic design workflows. AI fluency and hands‑on experience developing and maintaining design systems are critical.

Key job responsibilities

• Design Systems building and maintaining design systems, shared library of reusable components that all product teams draw from
• Help evolve the Prime Design Library (PDL) design system, particularly with component creation, maintenance, documentation, and quality standards

• Along with our Design Technologist, partner with Engineering teams as the design point of contact for component implementations
• Build and iterate on design tooling (plugins, linters) and support agentic design workflow exploration

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience
• Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end‑to‑end, user‑centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
• Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non‑technical leaders
• AI fluent - proficiency in AI design tools, including advanced features such as variants, auto‑layout, component properties, and design tokens
• Experience creating, organizing, and documenting reusable design components for multi‑product or multi‑platform use
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles, accessibility standards, and platform conventions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a collaborative multi‑disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
• Experience working with time‑tracking/resource management tools
• Experience building or contributing to a design system at scale (multi‑team, multi‑market)
• Familiarity with design token workflows, metadata schemas, and design‑to‑code pipelines
• Comfort with code environments: ability to use an IDE or CLI to build plugins, scripts, or automation tools
• Exposure to AI‑assisted design workflows or agentic tooling

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
