The role requires meticulous documentation, timely communication with physicians and insurance, and assistance with Medicaid applications.

Qualifications

• Review patient information on admission and submit clinicals to insurance for precertification.
• Monitor information sent to insurance to ensure only required data is disseminated.
• Available for on-call as needed.
• Assist patients with Medicaid applications.
• Update UR logs daily.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, social services and staff regarding documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitors information copied and sent per request to insurance companies for inpatient and assures only the required information is disseminated.
• Available for on-call as needed.
• Fax or call-in all discharge clinicals to insurance companies in a timely manner.

• Updates UR Logs daily.
• Contacts Physicians, nurses, social services, and other appropriate staff regarding potential problems or questions related to documentation of patient care issues.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

About the Role:
