Job summary

Brentwood Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, is seeking a dynamic Utilization Review Coordinator to join our team of professionals dedicated to improving mental health outcomes. You will monitor utilization of continuum services and help optimize reimbursement for the facility.

The role requires independent information gathering from treatment teams, interpreting managed care policies, and supporting the care team in ensuring appropriate referrals and efficient review processes.

Qualifications

• BS or BA preferred.
• Mental health experience preferred.
• Schedule determined by the Director of Utilization Review according to facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial reviews, monitors for appropriateness & need for referral to Business Office and/or physician.
• Conducts concurrent and extended stay reviews; pro-active and independent in gathering information from the patient record; seeks information from the treatment team.
• Interprets managed care, Medicare, Medicaid policies and services for the treatment team.
