Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Utilization Management Coordinator for Quail Run Behavioral Health Hospital in Phoenix. The role involves coordinating with external case managers to obtain certification/recertification of insurance benefits, and supporting the treatment team in understanding insurer requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.

The UM Coordinator will maintain knowledge of patient treatment and advocate for access to services during team meetings and physician

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s prepared healthcare professional required.
• Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care; psychiatric hospital experience preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of benefits.
• Assist the treatment team in understanding insurer requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
• Advocate for patient access to services during treatment team meetings and through physician contact.

Job Summary

The UM Coordinator contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay, and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning. The UM Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through communication with the treatment team. The UM Coordinator advocates for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s prepared healthcare professional (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work) required.
• Master’s preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, Pscyh Hospital experience preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
