The City of Kenner is looking for a Utility Worker II. This role involves performing outdoor maintenance and construction tasks in various areas, including streets and drainage. Candidates must have current permanent status as a Utility Worker I and demonstrate skills in physical work and operating equipment.
PROMOTIONAL ONLY LIMITED TO CURRENT, PERMANENT CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES WITH THE CITY OF KENNER.
40 HOURS PER WEEK
Heavy and light physical work in activities such as cutting grass, weeds, trees, and brush; cleaning culverts, drains, and ditches; moving, loading, and unloading materials, supplies, and equipment; assisting in the repair and construction of roadways, walkways, utility installations, etc. Work is generally performed outdoors under varied weather conditions. Some positions may require driving a Parish vehicle; therefore, possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record will be preferred. Reports to the assigned Foreman/Superintendent or a comparable supervisor.
The II level recognizes satisfactory completion of an employee’s initial probation at the Utility Worker I level.
