EmergencyMD in Texas seeks a Utility Worker I to perform high-level manual tasks in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants. You will excavate, repair, and connect lines using hand tools, and maintain barricades and shoring equipment.
Works with teammates and may be called out after hours, with possible shift work. The role requires a valid Texas driver’s license, ability to lift and carry heavy materials, and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
The Utility Worker I performs a high level of manual tasks involved in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants. Excavates soil and makes sanitary sewer repairs and connections with various hand tools. Repairs, cleans, and performs maintenance work on sanitary sewer lines. Assembles and disassembles barricades and shoring equipment. Must have the ability to work with coworkers as a team as instructed. May be subject to call out service after hours. Shift work may be required. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned.
Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting and carrying materials, kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; and standing for prolonged periods of time. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
