Job summary

Essex Meadows is seeking a hospitality-focused Utility Worker/Dishwasher to join our team in Essex, Connecticut. The role supports kitchen operations with pot washing, dishwashing, and general cleaning duties while storing supplies.

Part-time opportunities are available; daily pay, 401(k) with company match, scholarships, EAP, and EV charging stations are offered. All new hires must pass preemployment screening as required by a licensed residential care facility.

Responsibilities

• Wash pots, dishes and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize production areas and surfaces.
• Set up dishwashing area and maintain supplies.
• Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work surfaces.
• Empty trash and maintain safe, sanitary conditions.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Essex Meadows is seeking hospitality focused Utility Worker/Dishwasher to join our team. The Utility Worker performs a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies.

• Performs under the direction of supervisory personnel, dish and pot washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies.
• Sets up the dish and pot washing area.
• Prepares for dish washing and washes pots, dishes and utensils.
• Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes and utensils.
• Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Empties trash containers as required.

Other Duties:

• Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

Ability to set up and operate dish washing equipment.
