Job summary

MiTek in New York is seeking a hands-on general labor associate to support production and maintain clean facilities across the plant and offices. The role requires following instructions, moving materials, loading/unloading using pallets or forklift, and contributing to overall safety and efficiency.

You'll work with a team, adhere to shift schedules, and perform other duties as assigned. Experience with basic measuring tools is helpful, and a readiness to learn and grow within MiTek's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Effective communication with co-workers and management.

Responsibilities

• Clean the plant, office, and all other assigned areas.
• Assist production as assigned and directed.
• Follow oral instructions to move or reorder materials.
• Load/unload materials from pallets using hand tools or forklift.
• Lift heavy objects and deep clean work area and equipment.
• Attendance and punctuality, including overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Assist production as assigned and directed.
• Follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, replaced or re-ordered.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and deep clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
• Computer Skills: Some PC skills helpful, but not required.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Read a tape measure.
